By default, Instant Memo does not collect personally identifiable information from users. The app works as follows:

• Memo data is stored on-device only by default.
• All features work without any sign-up or login.
• No sensitive permissions such as location, camera, or microphone are used.
• Only if a user chooses to sign in with Google and use the backup feature, their Google account information and memo contents are stored in the cloud (see “Cloud Backup” below).

The app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob collects and processes data under its own privacy policy.

To opt out of personalized ads, go to your device's Google Settings → Ads and enable Opt out of Ads Personalization.

Memos entered by the user are stored locally on the device using Android's SharedPreferences. No data is transmitted to or stored on any external server or cloud.

• Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all memo data stored on the device.
• To transfer data to a new device, you may use the optional cloud backup feature (see “Cloud Backup” below).

To help you move your memos to a new device, we offer an optional cloud backup feature. It runs only when you sign in with your Google account and tap “Back up” in the settings screen. If you do not sign in, all data stays on your device only.

• Data stored: your Google account identifier (UID) and email, plus the memo and category content you created.
• Where it is stored: Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), protected by security rules so only your own account can access it.
• Purpose: used solely for backup and restore — never for advertising, marketing, or sharing with third parties.
• Deletion: you can sign out at any time, and to delete your backup data you may email the address below and we will remove that account's backup.

Instant Memo is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that personal information of a child under 13 has been collected, we will take immediate steps to delete it.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When changes are made, the effective date on this page will be revised. Significant changes will be communicated via app update release notes.
